APPLICATION PROCESS

International Balkan University announces internal calls for outgoing students each semester and offers more than 200 destinations for conducting an Erasmus+ semester abroad. In order for the student to be able to successfully realize an Erasmus+ Student Mobility for Studies (SMS), please make sure to follow the steps below:

Step 1: Application at IBU

Interested students shall apply for an SMS when the International Relations Office opens an internal call for applications. All applications for this type of mobility go through the Hello! Module of the International Relations Office and the student. In order to successfully fulfill the application, the student will need to include information such as: 3 university choices and a motivation letter for doing their studies abroad at the selected universities. The students need to choose among the universities with which IBU has a signed Erasmus+ Inter-Institutional Agreement: https://iro.ibu.edu.mk/erasmus-agreements/ They shall select the universities for which there is an agreement for their study program only. Other university choices will be considered invalid.

Step 2: Selection at IBU

When the call is closed, all students will receive a notification of the decision for their application. The following possibilities may occur:

  1. Accepted – if the student is accepted for an SMS, they should follow the steps below
  2. Rejected – if the student is rejected for an SMS, it means that the student is not eligible to take part in the program.
  3. Added on the Reserve List – if a student is added to the Reserve List, then the student may be contacted to take part in the mobility, only if any of the previously ranked students cancel their mobility.

Step 3. Nomination at the host university

The selected students will be nominated at their first choice if the university is eligible with their study program and if there is an Erasmus+ Inter-Institutional Agreement for that study program between IBU and the host university. If deadlines and criteria are met, the host university shall send an acceptance email to the student containing information about: their application process, documentation, course catalog, visa, and housing information. The student is obliged to follow these procedures and provide the necessary information and documents to the host institution within their deadline.

Step 4: Documentation at IBU

All students need to provide certain documentation before, during, and after the mobility takes place. The list of all the documents can be found here: the list of documents.

Step 5: Course Choices

The students must select their courses with their Erasmus+ Course Coordinators. Each coordinator’s contact information is available on this link: list of course coordinators. When the student has the final course compatibility list (CCL), they are ready to fulfill the Learning Agreement (LA) / Online Learning Agreement (OLA) https://learning-agreement.eu/ For more information on how to fulfill the OLA please check the following link: OLA.

Step 6: Completed Before Mobility Process

To complete the before mobility procedure, the student must upload the documents of the finalized above-mentioned processes, as well as other required documentation (listed on the Module), to their Hello! Modules.

Before the student departs for the Erasmus+ mobility abroad, the first installment of the grant will be transferred to their bank accounts. For more information related to the grant amount, installments, and other important information, please check the following link: grant information.

In case the students have additional questions, they shall contact us via the Hello! Chat or via email at iro.outgoing@ibu.edu.mk
