Visa Process Through Embassy/Consulate

VISA APPLICATION through an embassy or consulate in the domestic country + TEMPORARY RESIDENCE PERMIT through the Ministry of Interior in the Republic of North Macedonia

*This process is applicable to all students coming from countries that are NOT allowed to enter the Republic of North Macedonia without visa for up to 90 days. Please check your country here: https://www.mfa.gov.mk/en/page/31/do-you-need-a-visa

If your country indicates ‘REQUIRED’ then please follow the procedure for visa application through embassy/consulate available in your country or nearest country in the region. All students will need to apply for a Long-Term Visa (‘D’ Type) since their stay will be longer than 90 days. Please consult the nearest embassy consulate for the ‘D’ Type visa process by checking which one it is on the following website: https://www.mfa.gov.mk/en/page/37/europe/embassies

1. Visa Application Form – fully filled and signed by the applicant Document provided by the Embassy/Consulate
2. Income Document – proof that the student has sufficient income for the stay Document to be taken by the student (bank account information, grant agreement – Turkish term for the document is ‘Taahutname’
3. Accommodation Document – proof that the student has accommodation for the period of stay Document provided from Macedonia – the document must be in Macedonian language, signed by a landlord and the student and accordingly notarized
4. Age – proof that the student is 16-26 years old Passport can serve as a proof
5. Learning Agreement – proof that the student is accepted as an Erasmus+ student at the host university Document provided by IBU International Relations Office in Macedonian language
6. Erasmus+ Inter-institutional Agreement – proof of cooperation between the universities Agreement can be provided by both institutions
7. Language Certificate – proof that the student knows the language of instruction at the host institution Document provided by IBU Student Affairs Office/ or if the student has another certificate for English language proficiency
8. Permit Request – fully filled and signed by the applicant Document provided by the Embassy/Consulate
9. Health Insurance – proof of insurance Document provided by the student – the document must be translated in Macedonian language and accordingly notarized/ Turkish term ‘sgk provizyon belgesi’
10. Non-conviction Certificate – Certificate that the student has not been convicted/ Certificate that the student does not have any ongoing criminal proceeding against him/her Document provided to the student by a responsible institution – the document must be translated in Macedonian language and accordingly notarized/ Turkish term ‘savciliktan’
11. Passport Copy – valid for at least 16 (sixteen) months  
12. 2 x Photos – 3,5cm x 4,5cm
